MISFITS STEPPING OUT AND ABOUT 

For owners who have dogs that use outward displays such as growling, barking, lunging when they see other people or dogs in order to keep them away.  Most of these dogs fall into the fearful or frustrated category and just need an extra hand and support to learn new ways of coping in social situations.

This class will teach you how to shape polite on leash social behaviours while you are out and about in public. 

We will go through management options; loose leash walking and cover a number of different safe greetings with strangers and other dogs.  We’ll also cover emergency “Retreat with Honour” routines for when you find yourself in sticky situations.

Prerequisites: Private consultation with one of our trainers to get a start on some attention and conditioning basics prior to being in this group setting. Contact us to arrange. No bite history or behaviours fully disclosed.

When: Sundays x 4 weeks (May 13 - June 3)
Time: 11:30 am - 12:45 pm (1 1/4 hrs)
Location: Various locations to be announced weekly depending on clients’ needs
Cost: $120 (plus hst) Total  $134.40 Cheque payable to Paw In Hand Pet Services or cash.

- Payment and waiver can be dropped off at our office 40801 Perth Drive or mailed and must be received to hold your spot in class.
- Registration limited to 4 dog/handler teams.

What to bring: Your dog (wearing a plain buckle collar, head halter or body harness, basket muzzle if your dog may be a risk to others), You (wearing comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear), 6 foot plain leash, scrumptious small soft dog treats that your dog will jump hoops for.
* Please leave your dog in your vehicle when you first arrive. Bring your gear (treats, toys and mat) to the meeting area.
